Make These 5 Changes To Your Makeup Routine During COVID-19

As face masks, sanitisers and gloves become our go-to accessories, our basic skincare and makeup regime have also changed. It demands to be changed to an appropriate one due to COVID-19 safe practices.

While we are letting go of our lipsticks, we also need to be cautious about the product formulations more than ever. Here are five ways in which your makeup routine should change.

1. Skip Foundation

Now that we have a face mask covering almost half of the face, it’s a good idea to let go of the foundation. Our skin needs to breathe; a layer of foundation over moisturiser and primer can be heavy on the skin.

You may use a brightening concealer on the high points of your face.

2. Pay Attention To Formulation

Choose products that are smudge-proof and do not melt under the mask. If you must use the foundation, opt for a lightweight, and oil-free formulation which stays put. Opt for long-wear products.

3. Keep Your Eyebrows On Fleek

Now that all the focus is on eye makeup pay extra heed to your eyebrows. Well-groomed eyebrows can change the look; it can take it a notch higher. Fill and shape the eyebrows with a natural shade product.

4. Bring Out The Playful Eyeshadow Colours

Now that we’ll mostly be wearing eye makeup go for playful and bright colours. Smoky eyes, glitter and pastel hues are 2020’s best picks for eyeshadows. Be playful and experiment. Coloured mascaras and eyeliners should make a comeback in your vanity post-COVID-19 if in case you had switched to basics.

5. Invest In Lip Balms

We are all going to miss our lipsticks for a while, but our lips still need the pampering. With masks on, sweltering heat and suffocation inside the mask, make sure you give good care to your lips. Invest in hydrating lip balms and lip masks to keep them supple and plump.
